Date of Hike: Sunday, 5/26

Trail Conditions: Completely snow free up to south summit ledges, then ankle deep slush on Rollins section to true summit. By today (a couple of days later) I bet even that snow will be gone.

Special Equipment Required: No special equipment required beyond sturdy hiking boots. I saw a number of people wearing sneakers, which I would not recommend. Bring a little bug spray--not terrible, but they are out.

Comments: A gorgeous day for a great hike. Harder than I recalled from when I did this 10 years ago--then again I was 10 years younger. This is a challenging hike, though. Steep and rough at parts and then scaling the sheer faces (where there used to be wooden ladder/steps at one point). I think it would be difficult for little kids as some of the leg and arm "reaches" are far apart.
