July 22nd
Trail Conditions: Wet underfoot with muddy patches, slippery rocks and roots.
Water crossing no problem and trail well maintained.
Special Equipment: Just good waterproof boots and a hiking pole. Few bugs today.
Comments: Early start hoping to beat afternoon thunderstorms. We were clouded in all day with no views anywhere. Did not bother going further to the ledges with the cloud cover. On the way down a "fresh from environmental camp" student showed us how to recognise and dig up Indian cucumbers, which were actually quite tasty!
This was #47 for Henry, the marathon man, so a good day for the 6 of us and Finn and Teddy, the dogs.
