Starchild, where was your avatar picture taken? It looks exactly like the log I tried to cross on Stoney Brook on Sunday. I also tried sitting down and inching my way across. Very scarey. The brook was a torrent. Bottom line, it did'nt feel right, so I did the safe thing, hiked back down to RT 16 and walked up other side. Stu

red rock ravine

ha! it was the log i started to cross over red rock ravine in the pemi, but i also backed out as i realized my feet would soon be dangling in the water as i neared the 1/2 way point. arrrggg!!!!

all the water was much higher than 3 days earlier. this crossing we had to remove our boots and wear our crocs across, which stick like glue to anything they walk on!!!
