Wildcat D. Via Lost Pond, Wildcat Ridge Trail, then down the ski trails
Date of Hike: Sat 9/12
Trail Conditions: Some mud on Lost Pond. A beaver dam submerged one entire bog bridge about half-way to Wildcat Ridge Trailhead at Glen Ellis Falls, leading one of our party to step full-boot into about a foot of water. A few muddy sections up WRT but mostly dry, surprisingly given prevoius day's rain.
Special Equipment Required: Poles very helpful esp if returning down the WRT.
Comments: Optional - lovely day joining Paradox, Puck and Chip for FOTF, even though our different route/timing meant they had to raise the flag without us (sorry guys). Flag was visible up above the Wildcat gondola areas but unfortunately weather didn't cooperate for seeing any other peak's flag, and barely seeing our hand. Still we got great views from ledges atop Glen Ellis Falls before the fog rolled in, thanks to our slower son who insistents on enjoying the views when we have them - thank goodness.
Enjoyed chatting with lovely man/woman who's hiked up 19 Mile Brook and across entire Wildcat Ridge then spent time on Wildcat D with us - she reported great trail conditions despite fog, just fyi.
