What can I say but the slope was well groomed and firm, like walking up a road. Actually, easier than in the summer. Beautiful blue skies and not a breath of wind. Wore my spikes the whole way, but it could be bare booted with no problem. I brought my full winter gear with me with a silly notion that I might go over to "A" on the Wildcat Ridge Tr. and back. That idea was short lived. I started down the back side where it looked like no one had gone before, only to be knocked and batted around with branches and arm size limbs about chest high. Unless your a little person (under 4 ft. tall), one or many are going to have a tough time with this traverse. I tried to get up there from Carter Notch several weeks ago and it was also too difficult.
