Went up the ski slopes. The instructions were to take the farthest trail to the left and keep to the left. Routine trip to the top of the slopes. The trail to the tower had not been broken out. It was difficult to get through on that trail without banging your head on the overhead branches. On the way back down we passed a group of ten on their way to Carter notch so the trail should be well broken out now. I talked with someone at the top who told be he had tried to get up there on the Wildcat ridge trail from rt. 16 last week and found it impassable.
I wore stableicers for traction. They worked perfectly for the slopes. Snowshoes are of no value on the slopes but once above the ski slopes they would certainly be useful if not indispensable.
I believe the map refers to the mountain as Wildcat D but since this was Lauky's first 4000 footer I dubbed it "Wildcat L".
