Date of Hike: Sat. Nov. 21, 2009
Trails: 19 Mile Brk., Wildcat Ridge, & Polecat Ski Trail.
Our original plan was to do Jefferson and Washington today, but due to high winds we opted out for the Wildcats. Nineteen Mile Brook trail was wet and muddy as usual after a rain, but ice and blow down free. Climb up to Wildcat "A" was mostly ice free with one section of ice that was easy to get around. The ridge had no ice but was muddy with wet rocks. The ski trail was muddy and soft.
No traction was needed today. The temps were fairly mild but due to the wind there was a chill in the air. Hiked with Hiker Ed & Becca Munroe's AMC group today. We had a good crowd, nice hiking with them and Russ, Vinny, Jay, Amron, Mike, and Sue.
We saw some other groups of hikers doing the ridge also. Turned out to be a great day. The Presis' looked fairly frosted over today.
