July 29th.
Looking at the sky we abandoned our plan to hike Madison and did the Wildcat range instead.
Trail conditions: Wet in spots on 19 Mile Brook. A few areas with running water as we climbed up and over the ridge.
Special Equipment: Poles always useful. Few bugs and not enough sun to warrant sunscreen.
Comments: A good choice for us as we were dry all day with long intervals of sun, good views while we looked north to see rain and west to see heavy clouds on Washington and Madison. Met a number of thru hikers including a family of 4, all of them hoping to be on Kathadin by mid to late August. A good day out with Silverfox and three other friends.
