Trails: Lost Pond tr ->Wildcat Ridge Tr (E->A->back), some off-trail...

Conditions: Muddy as expected along the ridge (large puddles, some bog bridges submerged).

Special Equipment: Rain gear at times, sunglassess too.

Comments: A little bit of everything today: rain, sunshine, etc. South end of Wildcat Ridge up the steeps was no problem tho rocks wet. Around a half-mile up the trail I heard a low coughing noise that I thought was strange. It kept getting louder and louder and I was wondering if maybe someone was camping near the trail? Then it went away and picked up again a few minutes later. Then, right near the trail a big momma bear and three really cute cubs up in a tree. My heart rate..... ugh! Just not expecting it!

I tagged A and then turned around to head back south along the ridge and cut over in the col before D summit, hoping to easily hit the ski slopes. I cutover too early and found lots of ugly scrub/blowdowns before hitting some really narrow/steep glade areas I wasn't expecting. I took them to the usual pole-cat runs. A great day with pretty good views!!!
