Some mud to the Avalon/A-Z junction, then increasing snow to an inch or so and some long stretches with thin but solid ice in the trail depression. Ridge from Willey to Tom mostly a little snow and some minor stretches with ice or mud, pretty easy going. A-Z Trail in good shape with just some snow and good footing overall. A few blowdowns; Giff and Mike removed the worst of them with the trusty Fanno.
We put on Microspike ST's at the Avalon/A-Z junction and left them on until returning there on the descent.
Cool, blustery day with limited views but a fun day with friends. Nice to have Jess join us.
