Ok...is it Willey with a long I or Willey as in Billey?? I guess the locals use the announciation as short I as In Billey (Billy). Hiked on Wed August 13. Trail in great shape all around, wet per usual areas.

First half of the trail is easy from Ethan Pond ...everyone knows that but as soon as you hit the ladders (ridge trail) and then on very diffecult. I was told by a very reliable source that, this is the longest...steepest (steepest for the longest time) trail in the white mountains. Believe it. Views are spectacular and I applaud the crew for the great shape the ladders are in.

Trekking poles are a great way to save your knees. Water for the heart and time...although it took us 1 hour and 40 minutes for the climb it also took us 1 hour and 30 minutes for the descent. Usually for me the descent is far less time than the actual climb..but this is illustrative of the actual grade of the Ridge trail.

Anyway love VFTT and as always ...Looking Out!
