A great Christmas hike up Wright Peak. Trail from the Loj to Wright trail in great condition. You could bareboot it, but that is against the rules as two hikers appeared not to know about. Solid snowpack makes for easy travel and the trail is in great condition for skiiers as well. A little less pack and a dusting of snow on the .5 mile trail leading up Wright. Ice and rock the last hundred meters or so to the summit. You could get by with snowshoes at this point, but crampons were very helpful and recommended. A few minor blowdowns, but nothing that that is not easily traveled around. Cloudy, cold, and windy at the top, leaving not views on this day but a great way to spend Christmas. (JLS)
