After lots of rain earlier in the week the trail was fairly dry with only a few puddles, though still lots of muddy spots. Watery areas are fine. Once on the spur to the summit, those .4 miles are steep and rocky - don't expect it will be an easy buzz up to the summit if your legs are tired. Bring bug repellent.
Another beautiful day in the Adirondacks! The effect of Monday's torrential rain had subsided. The wind on the summit wasn't bad. On a side note, it doesnt appear that the parking lot porta-potties are emptied regularly.
I have seen a lot of gross porta-potties but not like this - I recommend you use the bathroom at the High Peaks Information Center. http://summithikinginnewengland.blogspot.com/2017/07/wright-peak-adk-1546-new-york-july-21.html
