Xloop (15 hours, 9360ft cummulative ascent, 25.3 miles)
From garden to orebed to saddleback, basin, haystack, skylight, marcy & return via slant rock and JBL trail (not reccomended for casual hikers).
Conditions: Slightly wetter than expected for the season. Stream crossings no difficulties, very little blowdown. Most of the trails were wet and muddy but little trouble with water proof shoes. JBL trail is much better (wet-wise) than southside trail. Trails near Basin and Slant rock show recent improevements (clear blowdown, dealing with water flow; thanks). Descent off Saddleback remains difficult due to steep rock (but fun).
Equipment: waterproof shoes very helpful. Extra food good idea.
