York Pond Rd conditions?

Hi,

Does anyone know if York Pond Rd is driveable and if so, for how far in? The USFS page says it's open, BUT......, so I'm hoping someone has had a first hand look.

They usually keep the road plowed to the trail head all Winter. Give the Fish Hatchery a call - they are very accomidating to hikers.

Yes, call...but, I've never seen it closed in the winter.

Was there yesterday. It was all plowed and sanded with complete access to all THs and fire roads.

I sat down for 10 minutes and watched two moose washing a parked car by licking the salt off of it. Obviously, they were after the road salt on the car. Funny sight, great day.
