Zealand Road was skiable all the way. It snowed all day Thursday and there was anywhere from 10" to 12" of new stuff on top of snow from previous weekend. No one had been down the Ethan Pond Trail since before that previous storm, so we broke it out all the way past Thoreau Falls to the Ethan Pond Shelter on Friday. Broke out the Shoal Pond Trail just down to the pond on Saturday. It is very deep back there and breaking trail was as hard as it gets, so we elected not to go all the way down to the Wilderness Trail. Plenty of cover, no rocks. Occasional moose post holes. Got warmer on Saturday so the snow was softer and slower on Zealand Trail and on the road, but still ample snow all over. It will get icy after this warm spell unless there is new snow.
Except on the road, you'll need your skis or snowshoes, no doubt. Gaiters.
Lots of snow for your Pemi adventures.
