"Oil spill demonstration" comment on trip report: I ordered Eggs Bene at breakfast yesterday, so had to retell the story of our first breakfast in Ashford. Last night I read your "oil spill" comment and spent some time trying to figure out what the joke or pun was...until I remembered we still had Ben's oil spill vid on youtube...oh well...good seeing you and the family.

I have my parents visiting with me for the weekend. My vacation starts on Labor Day in Maine with camping at Hermit Island, adventures at Acadia National Park, enjoying a rented cabin in Baxter State Park and finishing with whitewater rafting on the Penobscot. YooHOO! Have a great time at the ADK BBQ...

Sorry to hear about the knee. It sucks getting old, as Rocket reminds me on frequent basis.
John, thanks for asking. The knee is doing better. Maybe the aggressive phys therapy paid off. My longest hikes have been about 11 miles in length. The last hike only had minor pain until my meniscus moved during the last 10 minutes. It was fine after an hour or so.
I may be available to hike on Sunday, weather permitting. Any interest?
Oooh, 67 and 100 at the same time. Nice! I did Mansfield via Sunset in the clouds, then got soaked in the rain and chased down by lightning. Fun in a way, but yeah, I'd recommend a clear day.
