  • I was refering to the bionic woman, jamie sommers? maybe I was wrong in thinking it was linsey wagner, but you get the point.
Ha-ha thanks! Terra and Emma are certainly teaching him the way of the woods. Wish I had a couple of older women settin' me straight when I was his age!
Ha Ha ha...I personally dug three or four, the whole group got them all to the new/relocation trail. :)

    Too funny
Only three waterbars?? That trail has well over 50 - I lost count at some point the other day! You have to clear at least ten before you get any soul! :)) And, I seem to remember cutting down 30 or so blowdowns on somebody's trail a few weeks ago.... hmmm :)))

PS - thanks for the great work you and Jeremy did the other day! I walked up the trail that Saturday evening and was very impressed! Never have I seen a slew of waterbars dug so well!
Thanks for the greenie Sabrina. We do have to move on. That river in the summer above the area where the Franconia Brook enters is often quite fordable. I would love to see some work done at roughly the area where the Bondcliff trail reaches the river so that you could more easily rock hop across there. I think a lot of people would find the east side trail a lot more pleasant for the walk out-- not having to deal with the railroad ties and all that.
Thanks for the green. Much praise to you for your efforts. You and MichaelJ have some real sensible thoughts about managing wilderness. I wish FS would listen.
Hey Sabrina . . . nice to hear that there is another fan of the Percys, especially during blueberry season, and speaking of that, it was "berry" nice of you to provide me with some colorful "green" for my Percy report. Thanks! :)
I honestly had no idea you were doing one too! I was so surprised when I went to the trip reports and saw yours! Great job! Great minds think alike! Oh yeah, and thank you! Blue comes to visit us once a week, maybe we can ALL get together for dog-day afternoon sometime! We're pretty flexible with days we do this. There's a big farm near us where they allow dogs to run free. If I know you're coming I'll feed ya! Lemme know!
You can ask the trails manager (Jenny Burnett I think) to put some better / bigger saws in the cache. 30" Is a decent size. No reimbursement that I know of. They have them and should make them available. Ditto for other tools. Lucys Hardware in Jackson has some good saws if you are buying.
Will do -- planning a trip up soon to check things out, and then at least one more for photography.
Sabrina . . . first of all, mega-thanks for the "greenie"! And, to answer your question, yup the trail I took is sometimes (especially by the Forest Service) referred to as the Cherry Mountain Jeep Trail. It is extremely easy to follow.

Although the mileage to Mt. Martha is nearly twice as long for the Jeep Trail as it is for the route up from Rt 115, it only took me about 20 minutes longer to hike the Jeep route. It is a very gentle grade and you can make really, really good time!

    John
