  • I probably would have used the term Giggy used to describe the school. The fact that it did not get closed sooner shows you used some restraint.
Yay! Thank you! Hope all is well with you - it seems like forever since we last talked. Glad to hear that you and Alex had a good time on Avalon. You must return there again when the visibility is better. The views are just lovely.
Thanks for the green square, Trish...will we see you at the next Ashland Booze and Vittles?
hey..thanks for the greenie and Happy Thanksgiving to you and the gang.. Snow line stopped in the Notch coming back home but it won't be long..Not sure if you would be interested in Whiteface pass loop sunday but will throw it out there....
Yea, I knew you meant the TR, and I was referring to your TR AND the Tecumseh! They're both great, even though you just let the pictures talk. Pictures do a pretty good job talking :)
Yeah, we kinda laugh about it now. Jay is a skydiver, backpacker, scuba diver, skier, weightlifter, - in short, a total jock! ...so many oppurtunities for massive back injuries... and it was about 4" of snow that did him in! It was 'fluffy' too! LOL! Just twisted the wrong way, go figure!
Oooohhhh...that's right -- you've got the disc issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm not sure what I'd do right now if I couldn't hike...it would not be pretty.
Thanks for the green square, Trish. If you have a chance to get up to Mount Success, do so -- it's really an easy hike that, had I known about earlier, I would have done a while back. I'd like to get back up there once there's some snow, too.
How old are your kids? I have a daughter who is 6 and she is down and out right now with the flu or something. Running a high fever. Then this morning My wife is running a high fever. I hope it stays away from me. You are right though sometimes it is a blessing in disguise to make us stop and smell the roses. Although being in pain and sick is never fun :)
TrishandAlex Day up on Moosilauke remains my favorite day of Summer 2009. Alex can take all the time she wants with a thank-you -- the thanks really should go to you two for creating such a memorable event for so many people.

Your recent Trip Report with Sage causes me to ask you for a bit of advice. A couple I do not know well but know a little are invited to a post-wedding brunch at the top of Cannon Mountain in October. They say they're out of shape, but they're insisting on hiking the KRT to the top (because the rest of the wedding party will be doing that) with their 4-year-old little girl. Personally I think it's a mad scheme, but I haven't said anything. Do you think this is so crazy that a word of warning is warranted? The tram isn't a bad option if it's the safe one.
Thank you, Trish. Fingers crossed for a good appointment! If you're willing to tackle some easy, non-technical trails with the slow, recovering Miss LRiz, please, please let me know. I am hoping that I might be able to get out for a bit of hiking in a few weeks... all dependent on the doctor's orders, of course. :)
Thanks for the greenie, but it was really my pleasure. It was great to meet Hugh and Sage as well as all the others. It was fun also coming up the Nelson Crag trail. It's been three or four years since I had gone that way and I forgot how much fun it is. There is a bit of everything. All in all a great day.
