This sounds like a great way to do this hike. Wish we could've come.... Can you let me know how this works out? When we get ready to do this, how 'bout a detailed trip report so we can take advange of your experience? We always like to read up on who does what and how things work out. It's...

Got Engaged on Slide over the weekend!

I got engaged on a mountain....well not actually the "mountain", but in the mountain ski lodge, Sunday River White Cap Ski Lodge, as a matter of fact. It was very romantic. Couldn't have asked for a better place to get engaged, New Year day. Will be married almost 6 years, got married in April.

    Pants

I have this pair of "running" shorts(even though I don't run), got some time ago that is a really lightweight poly-type material that I love when it's really hot or even now, cause it doesn't take much till my furnace gets stoked. Actually got them for working out, well hiking's a work out...

You mean I can go hiking this weekend?!

It actually takes us about an hour to get ready, hey that's what we're doing this weekend, although we don't have a three day weekend, so it's just going to be an overnighter......

    Are you a peakbagger?

Never thought I'd be a peakbagger, but, still don't consider myself totally dedicated to a list. We are currently working on the 48 list, but do other hikes as they come, such as hiking in Baxter State Park, Acadia, or the Evans Notch area. Whatever strikes our fancy at the time.

Mount Cabot, The Bulge, The Horn - August 17, 2008

Hey, nice trip report! BTW, what's the deal with the cabin at Cabot??? Can you stay up there? Would you need reservations? If you were to stay up there, how much room, either cabin or tent site? Is there significant water supply there? I know so many questions, we'd like to do an overnighter...

    What to do in Baxter?

You are kidding....right??? ;) There's soo much to do in Baxter, just don't know where to start. The earlier suggestions sound great. Don't forget Double Top, now that's a scramble. Most of all, just have fun being there! I'm so jealous

First Sister of Chocorua, lots of wildlife

Very nice! I hope we get that lucky this weekend, although, it may be a bit difficult with us and our dog, possibly my daughter too. Not sure yet but we're hoping to hit Hale or Mt Tom and Mt Field, depends upon who wants to do what. Anyways those are all great pictures.

    Bugs.

Good luck  We're only in southern NH and mosquitoes are about the same as always this time of year, out and biting. Now the horse flies those would be the ones I'd be worried about.....they'll pick you up and carry you off.....

    Injured

Well Doc says it's just a sprain and should heal 7-10 days, guess the RICE really works! Said I was doing all the right things. Should probably start making little circles with the foot/ankle and a little streching, but not much, just to keep circulation going. Don't overdo it...could take...

    Injured

Yeah, that's the kind of advice I'm really looking for.....actually I thought just shooting self in head would just put me out of my misery. Should've seen the dog, right after I did it, I was painfully limping/hopping to sit down, stupid dog thought I was playing and started to get all excited...
