I was with the other party and we appreciate you taking our pictures too! We also ran into some thickish stuff on the way up but on the way down we stayed mostly with herd paths and open woods just before we hit the trail again. All in all good day with good friends.

I emailed AMC re the hike - wtg for a response. Michael - I did hike the WEEKs - a bit of blowdown, and very buggy, the trail does not look like it is used much. Trail was dry though.

I did Mendon mostly on old logging roads. I still need Scar Ridge and Big Jay among others. Its tough to get people to go with you :) especially if they ever heard others bushwack stories. Take care.

Actually a friend of mine just called the hatchery on May 25 and they told her the gate is open this weekend from 8 - 4 PM only.
