Our calendar is getting full for May, but we still have 3 Thursday dates available.

5/13
5/20
5/27

Next, the Location?

Gilded Otter In New Paltz

Keegan Ales in Kingston

Cave Brewery in Windham

Also posted to ADKHPs, I'll try to keep everything in sync...

OK, the decision has been made!

5/13 - Bring your bike and/or feet to the Poughkeepsie side of the bridge at 6:00. We'll walk or bike for 45-50 minutes, ending in the same place. The reasons I want to start on this side are that I haven't been there yet and I hear that views of the Catskills can be had from this end.

After the hike, we will head to the Hyde Park Brewing Company, arriving around 7:00 PM.

Directions to the rail trail are here:

http://walkway.org

Click "Location & Parking Information" and then click on the big "P" at the right end of the bridge. Then put in your address to get directions. It's located at 61 Parker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601

The Hyde Park Brewing Company is located at:

4076 Albany Post Road (aka US RT. 9)
Hyde Park, NY
845-229-TAPS

If it's really raining hard, or you just want to meet us, show up at 7:00.

Ok, so who is in?

I just penciled it in on my calendar. We've got to take advantage of the free parking while it lasts. I saw an article in the Poughkeepsie Journal today saying that there will be a $5 parking fee by the end of the summer.

I wished I lived closer so I could join you. Have fun.

Tom, i need 2 more CT trips to finish up that state!....What are your plans with Laurie on those?...I believe they are along the Eastern CT...

Wrap up:

We had 10 people show up, one of whom was carried most of the way. :D

Mike S was the lone biker.

I was pleasantly surprised to see several new (to me) faces. The last attempt to hold a Beer night only had one person show up.

We were also graced by the Head of the Walkway, Fred, who came by and snapped our picture.

Speaking of views, KHP, and a good bit of the Devil's Path are visible from the East end of the Bridge, although http://heywhatsthat.com failed to mention that on Paula's charts.

After a nice stroll, with temps in the mid-60's, a decent breeze, and the Sun poking thru the clouds once or twice, we ambled back to the cars and headed to Hyde Park Brewery.

The service was a tad slow, but we were a large group. The beer was ok, but they had none of their dark beers, which IMHO, are their best.

Thanks everyone for showing up! :D
