    FKT for the Pressies!

Unassisted 46er trip referenced by Tom: http://www.adkhighpeaks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9585 This was an all-time classic TR as well. After returning from the trip, Cory posted the TR one day at a time...great read with wonderful photos! Jan also holds the ADK 46 "assisted" speed record...

    Help/advice - "hiker car" needed??

Another vote for the Subaru Outback. I have a '01 with 101K on it. If you're tall it wouldn't be good for sleeping in, but sounds like thats not an issue. Great car. Mine is NOT for sale. :D

Losing Weight and Getting into Shape

Thanks for reviving the thread, Adam. I've had a few tough outings this year, where I had some real energy/endurance issues and it finally just pissed me off! I've lost about 8 pounds in the last month, going from 260 to 252. Mainly portion-control, and resisting the temptation to snack on...

    Redfield from LOJ

Nice job! We did the same hike in reverse last September(see my avatar). And I couldn't agree more about the hike back from Marcy Dam to the parking area...is the bridge still above water at the beaver dam?

    Start of redfield/cliff trail.

...and here's a pic of the cairn marking the start of the Cliff herd path. IIRC I'm facing the path to Cliff. To my left is the path to Redfield, right heads back toward the marked trail. Photo is from late May 2010. Here's a link to the TR. http://www.adkhighpeaks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11676

Thanks for the tip, Nessmuk. I can definitely live without all the flea market activity and associated auto and pedestrian traffic.

Excellent TR and pics, Mike! You and Nicole have been busy. Often wondered what the hut to hut experience was like. This is very helpful.

    NY State Trip

You could always park near the bridge on Rt. 13 at the FLT parking and access the park from there, or just hike the FLT, which is very nice along there. :) And there is an awesome swimming area!

    NY State Trip

Very nice! Pretty close to me as well...I haven't been to the Watkins Glen S.P. in several years and your pics remind me that I need to get back there. If you have time to take Adam up on his offer to show you the PA Grand Canyon, do so...well worth it! If you're heading east, toward...

EMS not standing behind their products

A bit of a thread drift, but along these lines, I was making a purchase at Orvis store in Manchester Center, VT a number of years ago. When I handed the clerk my LLBean Visa card, she looked me right in the eye and said, "you've been bad!" LMAO!
