Another vote for the Subaru Outback. I have a '01 with 101K on it. If you're tall it wouldn't be good for sleeping in, but sounds like thats not an issue. Great car. Mine is NOT for sale. :D

Thanks for reviving the thread, Adam. I've had a few tough outings this year, where I had some real energy/endurance issues and it finally just pissed me off! I've lost about 8 pounds in the last month, going from 260 to 252. Mainly portion-control, and resisting the temptation to snack on...

Nice job! We did the same hike in reverse last September(see my avatar). And I couldn't agree more about the hike back from Marcy Dam to the parking area...is the bridge still above water at the beaver dam?

You could always park near the bridge on Rt. 13 at the FLT parking and access the park from there, or just hike the FLT, which is very nice along there. :) And there is an awesome swimming area!
