    EXIF date changer

I have never had to make any changes to the EXIF data (apart from adding/removing coordinates) so I had no interest in EXIF editors. Today I discovered that I had recently changed the date in my camera, one day off. Since I geotag my photos I discovered it today, the first time I used the...

Lylah's First Hike...With Her Own Two Feet! Stratham Hill Park

Thanks for a delightful post ... I have no kids but still enjoyed it immensely. Keep us posted as she grows and the mountains she hikes grow with her!

    Oak Hill, Concord area

Thanks! On my way back from Brookline today I stopped at the Shaker Road trailhead and took a photo of the sign:

    Spring Snow Cover Reports

Hiked Oak Hill near Concord yesterday, obviously totally snow free :)

    Oak Hill, Concord area

I have since hiked Oak Hill several times (makes a nice break in the Thornton to Brookline trip :)), but always from the Shaker Road side. Today I finally decided that I had to try the Oak Hill Road side, a nice change. As Michelle says the trails are less used, and in a couple of places not...

    Mt.Washington Road Race

If by "Nelson Crag" you mean what the WMG calls "closest approach to Auto Rd. near Cragway Spring" you are talking of 3.4 miles each way with 2,800 feet of elevation gain. You obviously know the hiking ability of family members better than I do ;)

    Mt.Washington Road Race

IMHO the above treeline section of Jewell is likely to be too rough for non-hikers.

    Spring Snow Cover Reports

Jericho Road Trail to Cooley Hill is basically snow free. Pleasant hike, 6½ miles round trip with 1,400 feet elevation gain.

    Spring Snow Cover Reports

Attempted Indian Head Trail from Rt. 3 to Mt. Pemi. I was expecting some running water, but the trail was much wetter than I had expected. There were substantial sections in which streams had taken over the trail. The lower section has an established alternate trail, so it was not too bad...

    Spring Snow Cover Reports

Snow-free (or almost) trails in NH Probably time to start the snow-free trails thread. Today I hiked the Rumney Rattlesnake, no snow below the loop, some snow on the loop. Note that this is a very low mountain, the summit is at 1,594 feet, well below the elevation of many trailheads.

    White Mountains Directissima?

Misspelling ("tt", not "ct" in the middle of the word) is your problem, see White Mountains Direttissima.

Anyone doing the Mt Washington Road Race 2013?

Are any of those training for the race familiar with the Mount Tecumseh service road? It is rougher than your average logging road, but climbs 2,000 feet in about 3½ miles. It is the dashed line starting near the first aid station on the map.

    Excellent analysis of Snowquester bust

Strange storm that hit Massachusetts! I left Brookline yesterday late morning thinking that the storm was over. Early this afternoon I looked at Boston.com and ... surprise!! ... it was back.

    Excellent analysis of Snowquester bust

Agreed. Another excellent article by the Weather Gang: Your responsibilities as a weather forecast user.

    Excellent analysis of Snowquester bust

The Washington Post has an excellent meteorologic team, called the "Weather Gang". Like essentially all forecasters in the DC area they went way overboard in their predictions for yesterday's non-storm. This morning they published an excellent analysis (I have not yet followed all the links)...
