That could take some research...there is alot of local wool production in Northern New England. The yarn goes into a variety of products from clothes to tapestries. You may be limited to gloves, socks and hats.

thanks for the feed back. I have looked at some of the old threads. I do ski now. I rent alpine and own BC nordic and skate skiis. I just don't want to own a set of AT and alpine and hope to have a solution for both. I think an AT set up is the way to go. Pricewise AT could be a bit more...

Does any one just use alpine touring skiis for both backcoountry and groomed trails? I am looking into taking the leap and want to do both with one investment. I welcome any and all comments, advice and jokes.

Is there a map, lamenated, tyvec etc. for lake Umgagog? I hope something is available at LL Bean or EMS. I am aware that the map is available on line http://www.fws.gov/northeast/lakeumbagog/graphics/map1-3_ownership.pdf but I need something that will stand up to the elements.

I read on the New England tral site that the proposed route throughNew Haven is to bring the trail through SLeeping Giant and then through the Quinnipiac River Marsh and connect to the East side and then finish in Lighthouse point park. That could be interesting.
