    Flags on the 48 - 9/11/2005

Seven regular peaks left. The folks that sign up for these peaks are the real heroes of the event. Some usual suspects that give us trouble: South Carter, Owl's Head , East Osceola and Wildcat A Surprised to see: North Kinsman, North Hancock and South Hancock

    Flags on the 48 - 9/11/2005

Should anyone know a non-hiking group/person that would be willing to participate, we do have an option for them. We have left Cannon, Washington and Wildcat D reserved for them. These peaks have alternate access to the summit areas and need not be hiked. What we are really hoping for is that...

Sept 11th New Hamp High peaks area

Peaks that are not that hard would be, Jackson, Waumbek, Hale, Tom, and Mt. Osceola via Tripoli Road. Some mountains are easier than others and some have difficult routes up them as well as easy ones. There will be ten slots open for each peak. This was done to allow small groups and solo...

Lisa, I need you to show me how to play that again! It's been years since I played. Sounds like you had a good trip. That privy sign is a good laugh :D

    Mystery Buildings Challenge

I don't believe from Liberty you would be able to see the tram station. I would say with the foreground mountain ridge that the zoom shot from of Cannon on Garfield is correct. From the Old Bridle Path the Observation tower on Cannon reminds me of a lunar lander.

    Flags on the 48 - 9/11/2005

Smitty is on the mark saying that the popular peaks will be signed up for quickly. But with ten spots available for each peak that leaves 480 slots to be filled. I am quite positive to have at least one person for each peak but if 480 slots were filled, THAT would be beyond words. For that...

You might be surprised SteveHiker! I have a feeling that the peaks will go very fast this year. VFTT has always greatly supported this event and I'd like to thank everyone for their help over the years. It's been a long time since the Woodstock Inn eh SherpaK!

    Lost trail info

Thanks for the replies. I did check out the Lost Trails Website but did not find the exact listing. I noticed the Bike route from a recent trip and wondered if maybe that was route. It's something I might check out this summer.

    Lost trail info

Does anyone know if there was once a trail that branched from the Welch-Dickey Loop and went to Mt. Tecumseh. I remember reading about this somewhere but could not find any information on the Lost Trails Website. Thanks

    Easiest/Hardest 4000 Footer?

Easiest-- Hale. Crisp clear day and we literally were up and back in four hours. Never broke a sweat. Hardest-- Owl's Head. Stream crossings were brutal and the Lincoln Woods Trail was a muddy mess between the third and fifth crossing. Black Flies were without a doubt the worse I've...

Need someone to do West Bond Sept 11

As of right now, all peaks have folks signed up to bring flags up them. Flags will be flying from all the summits from noon to 2 P.M. on Sept. 11th. So if your hike that day takes you to the summit around that time, be sure to say hello to the flagbearers!!!

1 Month to Flags on the 48!

We'll be tagging Monroe. Stop by any of the 4000 footers between Noon and 2:00 pm on 9/11 to see the flags displayed. Hopefully with good weather and visiability, you should be able to see flags from other peaks nearby.
