I'd go back to help you guys tag it. Let's just do it on a nicer day.

    Scar W (#100)

It was a pleasure to accompany you on this trip. Thanks for putting up with this bushwhacking novice. I had to laugh at some of the crazy thick stuff we were pushing through. I'll admit there were times I thought to myself "this is nuts!". All in all, it was a great experience and one I...

Just wanted to say thank you to all the folks from this board that made Flags on the 48 2007 a success. Hope to see you again next year!

Pierce with the family for "Flags on the 48"

Nice to see you again this year Chip! Thanks for you and your groups participation in the Flags event. Giggy, you were fine. Marc left about an hour or so before you arrived.

    Mt Cabot FOF

Thanks for your participation in Flags. Mt. Cabot does not draw the crowds that other peaks get for this event. Your participation on the out of the way Cabot proves that the spirit of this event is not going anywhere soon! Thanks Again!

"Flags on the 48" 9/11 Memorial Hikes need help this Saturday

The Flags do not need to be large at all. Anything really will do. It does not even have to be a American Flag. A New Hampshire State flag, a Canadian Flag, a Peace flag have all flown before as well as flags from Louisana and Mississippi. It does not matter which Flag makes it...

    Flags on the 48 2007

All 48 now will have coverage for the event. Thanks to everyone that has signed up. Now we need the good weather and a nice breeze to get those flags unfurled.

Just Owl's Head left. Hopefully it goes soon.

    Flags on the 48 2007

There are two peaks left. Owl's Head Wildcat D I'm surprised no one has taken Wildcat D. The gondola would allow non-hiker friends to participate. For Owl's Head, it is what it is but hopefully we'll get them all covered.

    Fun with Poison Ivy

Yes, Amicus, that is the hike you missed. My guess is that somewhere in the Hockanum Flats is where everyone stumbled into it. How I did not get it is beyond me????????

    Mt. Tom in Massachusetts

My guess would also be a horsefly as well. For some reason, Mt. Tom seems to be the only spot I get bitten by them. One of these days, I need to spend some time exploring the massive talus slope on the western side.

    Flags on the 48 2007

We still have several peaks left. Is there anyone out there who can help us with these: Owl's Head South Carter Wildcat D

    Mt. Holyoke Sat 7/21

The Lithia Springs trail is in far better condition now than it was a few years ago. The blazes that Dugan, RocksnRolls and I saw are fairly new and there are now actually signs at the trail junctions. It gets a lot of heavy ATV use but thankfully they stay off the ridgeline. The Black...

    Flags on the 48 2007

There used to bea post gathering at the Mooseland Grill before it burnt down. Since then, people have gone to their personal favorite places to eat. We had a good sized group return to the KOA in Woodstock last year. We are planning the same type of gathering again.

Just a reminder that Signups open this Monday July 9th at 6:00 pm. We have had several inquries about the event itself so hopefully we'll get all the peaks cover again. Thanks.
