I sure hope no one is up on the high summits in trouble today!

I couldn't sleep and this weather just brought up some memories of last winter up on Chocurua. Anyone have any good "wow is was cold" stories?

High Winds atop Mt. Chocorua

It's funny you mentioned that you had memories of cold weather on Chocorua... My girlfriend and I tried to summit this "little" mountain about a month ago, got within 10 feet of our goal and had to turn around because of EXTREMELY high wind. We could see the metal pegs on the summit rock, but when I attempted to step up for the final few feet I faced a WALL OF WIND that seemed impenetrable!!!!! Probably the most vicious weather I've ever experienced. I've heard quite a few "horror" stories atop Mt. Chocorua, as well as being one of the most photographed mountains in the world. Someday I would like to summit this beauty.
