If you were in Franconia Notch on May 22th, the weather stunk. If you happened to be above Franconia Notch, you got to see something cool.
Arriving on Little Haystack with my snowman. He didn't travel well. He lasted about an hour. Looking east, the view was great, but normal.
Looking west, the view was not normal. Beautiful undercast, which lasted the whole hike.
Walking north along the ridge, looking east vs. west brought vastly different views.
From Lincoln summit
From that cool narrow spot north of Lincoln summit
From Lafayette summit. Bless this girl for putting up with my photographic lunacy.
The now-sleeveless chick down below, heading into the mist
Must have been equally cool to be on Mooselauke that day.
