Great to see a young person's dream come into being. I'm sure he appreciates the rewards of being able to reap them at such a young age. Imagine summiting Rainier at the age of 4! As a mother of an adventurous son, I appreciate the young man's mom honoring him with the statement at the end of the story: "His inner compassion and intuition carried him through."
