Twas a beautiful day to go for a walk, and since all my hiking plans got blown away, I still needed to get out. So I decided to take a walk in Lebanon and the woods to get some shots.

Looks like a day well spent

I enjoyed your pics of Lebanon. We've stopped in Lebanon on our way to other places. I always figured it looked like a nice town with a lot to offer. Thanks for sharing! I spent the weekend raking and fertilizing our lawn and spreading mulch ... pretty dull stuff I'll tell you .... so VFTT is helping me escape vicariously.

All the places were within a mile of my apartment so I didn't need a car. I like being able to escape into the woods without having to drive (esp considering I cant..... :( )

Thanks for the comments on the pics....Lebanon really isn't that amazing, but if you take pics of the right things, you can make it look like an awesome town.

Grouseking-

If you're looking for a new place to explore in the area when going on a bigger hike isn't an option, there is a nice network of trails in the woods between Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Sachem Village (Dartmouth grad student housing).

Link to Google Map of the Area (green arrow is Sachem Village, DHMC is to the southeast). Boston Lot pond is to the south (zoom out).

The trail from Sachem to DHMC is my morning/afternoon commute. Sure beats taking the MassPike into Boston :D

Yeah I've seen that on maps, and I'm curious about the Boston Lot lake, but I think I'll wait till full spring to check that place out. With the snow coming in tomorrow, I'm ready for another snowshoe hike in the Whites this weekend. Hopefully.....
