Winter? The pluses add up to much more than the minuses. No bugs, heat and humidity are manageable, snowshoeing is easier than hiking rough trails, food keeps until mealtime, you can drag most of your gear on a sled, camp where you want; in many ways more comfortable than summer, plus the views really open up, few to no tourists if you know to go off their routes.
Not to start the annual rant, but the only thing I find truly annoying about winter is postholers.
There, someone said it. Since we all agree with that on this site could we please now leave them to their misery? But perhaps the best thing is to be warm and dry in winter, but still outdoors.
dont forget no knee mashing descents. that is what I love the most descending via skis snowboard glisiding all easier on the knees IMHO
