I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Madison Spring Hut has closed for the season. http://www.outdoors.org/lodging/huts/season-dates.cfm

There is a lot to be said for Adams, the highest unspoiled peak in the northeast. One of my personal favorites.

Yes that is correct. The day of this report was the last day the hut was to be open. Great hike for sure though.

Great peak and some people think it has alot of " Energy" at the summit. There is even a group, who make a sort of pilgramage to the summit, to do whatever groups like that do. There is a list somewhere out there of all the Sacred peaks in the world and Adams ranks high on the list.
