adk high peaks--black flies and big bites?

anybody know what the bug situation is like in the ADK high peaks region?

We were on the NP Trail last weekend up there and with the wet conditions and all....mosquitos were ruthless. Didn't see many blackflies but that could change very soon!

No bugs today 5/29. I think the 30's and 30mph winds froze the little buggers.

I can only pray the cold got most of them. I am heading up and doing Colvin, Blake, Dial and Nippletop next weekend. I looked at the weather and it is suppose to be in the 30's tonight. Think cold

No bugs again on 5/30 - the cold nights and wind are keeping them at bay.
