Anyone know of an on-line map that shows the high peaks in overview so I'm not forced to break out the paper version when trying to gauge relationships between the peaks???

Google Earth can do this, it's awesome! There is a thread on this at:

This map is from one of the best ADK hiking sites on the web*, Andrew Lavigne's Outdoor pages. I love the trip reports which include the GPS tracks.
