Annie and I went to Allen yesterday, saturday feb 7 2009 .
I am very happy that I have done it. Yessssssssss!
Been part of the group of 13 people who have opened the path to Allen last week, here I am back on this trail. Having missed the summit of Allen, I've seen in my dreams and in my soup all week. I'm so happy. Yessssssssss!
Arriving at the Ark Trail, Friday night, I tell everybody what we would do saturday. I decided to hiked, Iroquois-Algonquin and Wright. (I'm happy not have done this, with winds measured at 100 kmh on Wright, according to Jim)
We went to bed early Friday night to be in shape the next morning.
I wake up at 4 am, slept well and in good shape. I begin to think about Allen, yes again. At 5.00h, I wake up Annie and I proposed this "What do you think if we going to hiked Allen?" It will be not too cold, not too much wind and the path is open. The three conditions that she wanted to come with me. She answered, it's a good idea, let's go.
We left 5.45h and 7.15h to have started.
We went at her own pace, even I let her go first all the way up to the summit. The difficult part for her was about the last mile. She even wanted me to let go and expect it. We mounted both quietly and we have achieved. She was tired, but we reached the summit. No views of the area we were in fog. Very proud and happy, we took a break before returning.
The Butt slide was fantastic we enjoyed it like kids. WOOOOHOOUUU!!
The last portion was difficult for her, but she was proud of her achievement.
Happy for her and for me.
Thank you for all the good words too her, she appreciate very much your encouragements and me too also. To night, she started to look at my list, to see what could be next.
Now that Allen is done, I'll stoped to see it in my dreams and in my soup.
Unlike last week, I was well rested.
What a good night's sleep can do.
And by the way, I still like Allen.
Pics to follow tomorrow.
