Your Trip Should Be An Epic/Saga

You're right.
As we speak, ColdFeet and I are planning a salt water assault of some lesser visited sites in one of Long Island's north shore coves or in one of the south shore bays...;)

Actually, I'm quite jealous. - flat water is locked up tight in the North Country.

Can't wait to hear your trip report!

Mike

Have any of you paddled and camped the islands in the sound off of South Norwalk, Ct ? Jay H and I paddled around them a few years ago. During the "season" the island sites need to be reserved, but off season (I was told by someone at the town offices) no one really cares.

In the scheme of things, Canada and the north country would be more interesting, but this South Norwalk trip could be quick and local.

We've definitely talked about it and want to get there someday. I would like to depart for the north shore of Long Island...the trip from there would be about 8 miles across the Sound.

Perhaps we can all meet out there in the "off season" some time soon.

Just did a quick search...looks like the "off season" ends May 1st and begins again Columbus Day.

I'm actually booked to go there on April 16th for one night with the Long Island Paddle club. As of now there isn't to much interest, only the leader and myself....Here's a good one, kayak and camp out at Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn! It's a Federal Park.....I'll go anywhere!
