Has anyone done the Ammonoosuc Ravine trail (combined with the Crawford Path) by moonlight? Any tips or advice?

Yes, bring at least 2 headlamps. Even on a night of full moon, clouds, trees, even large rocks, can quickly obscure your view.wromanow said:

also - extra batteries - and I am considering even upping to a better lamp - I generally use a Princeton Tec Scout which weighs one ounce (or so)...I have two of them and they are great for occasional use. That is fine when you may need some light at the beginning or end of a hike, but if you are going into a hike knowing you will be out all night you may want something a bit heftier.
