Striders

Outstanding photo.

I once met an entomologist (insect scientist/researcher) at the shore of a pond, where there were several striders around. There were trout rising in the area, but they never went after the striders. I asked him why this was. His response was, "I guess they must really taste bad".

Guess their graceful striding makes up for their bad taste.

Actually, you can tell because the last segment of the abdomen has a different shape.

But DON'T ask why I know that.

Spread wide alright......would prefer a bit more meat on the legs though Better for endurance.......
