My adk catskill guide says the trailhead for Ashokan is on Peekamoose Rd. Is there another name for the road or can anyone tell me where the parking area is?
Thanks

Here is some information on the Ashokan hike:

http://www.trailregistry.com/trailregistry/showItinerary.jsp?selectedTrail=82189

http://www.localhikes.com/HikeData.ASP?DispType=0&ActiveHike=0&GetHikesStateID=&ID=5675

Parking is 3.8 mi. on the right. It is CR 42. One site calls it Peekamoose Rd. while another calls it Watson Hollow Rd.

If you don't want to do the loop follow the ridge back down to the TH..It's a great bushwack w/ some open blueberry fields w/ nice views. You leave the trail at the "wack" mark on the map.

That's a really neat track, Hikes4Fun!

Hiking down from the summit towards the reservoir to the other bump on the ridge is another great little whack and offers AMAZING close up views of the reservoir. :)

I often found the return loop beyond the blueberry fields a bit confusing to follow, maybe the trail has gotten more defined over the years.

Bit of thread drift, but besides the climbing and hiking and mountain biking, that area is rich for road cyclists. It's all farmland and vineyards, and mostly flat with enough rollers to have a lot of fun. Highly recommended!
