Are you interested in "rounds"?

I'm neither interested nor disinterested in rounds (or dogs for that matter.) I just volunteered to collate the data, as I have most of the peaks and most of the lists already in database format. I will publish the database and/or SQL instructions at the end, and will summarize the DB using standard available aggregate functions.

But, for simplicity, I think we should limit it to the first time through the lists above. Since the dog doesn't go alone, I'm not sure how that will affect the other data. The goal, as stated in the other thread, really was to try and figure out some of the data that the AMC 4000 club surely has but doesn't like to publish ;)

It helps me a lot if you can keep the data in comma-separated form using the template above. If you change it (the name/spelling of the list, spacing, colons, etc.), then I have to do more manual editing to get it into the DB.

I had a request for the ADK100 & CAT100. I assume I can find these online somewhere so if there are enough posts claiming these, I'll track them too. If only the requester posts, then there's only one data point ;)

ADK Lean-to Challenge: 108/275, been working on it for about 5 years now

I am really curious about any other hikers out there who have taken similarly long times from start to finish. Hikers who have kept good records of when each climb took place, never lost interest, and who kept plugging away at it, slowly but surely, with patience and resolve over many years.

That would NOT be me. I think I climbed some listed peaks as a youngster, but have no record of it. Only when I started posting trip reports on the Web did I gain the ability to track my progress toward a list, but I had no interest until I realized I had just a few left to knock off.

Sticking with the format, here's what I can verify:

Dang, that's a weak peakbagging list. I think I'll start a new website called" "Views from the Valley"........

List.............Time..................First peak...............Last peak

NH4k............tbd................Washington(1967)..........tbd

Even Wu finished before me

WM4k....10 years...Mt Wash....S Kinsman

NE4k....Still working...Killington....BSP to go

ADK4k....still working....Giant.....1/2 way

It occurred to me that, on my list, it should really be 8/39 for the Catskill 35. Aren’t there four peaks that need to be reclimbed during the winter?

Anyway, I can also give you the figures for my ladyfriend, Susan, and my son, Cameron.

Susan:

WM4, 37/48 14 years and at a standstill*, Washington
WM4w,
NE67, 56/67 14 years and at a standstill, Washington
NE67w,
NEHH, 66/100, 14 years and at a standstill, Washington
NEHHw,
NE111, 104/115, 14 years and at a standstill, Washington
NE111w,
ADK46, 6 years 26 days, Cascade, Rocky Peak Ridge
ADK46w,
ADK100, 50/100** 13 years and at a standstill, Cascade
ADK100w,
CAT35, 8/39, 6 years and at a standstill, Hunter
CAT35w,
CAT100, 8/102, 6 years and at a standstill, Hunter
CAT100w,
NHHH, 38/100, 14 years and at a standstill, Washington
NHHHw,
TW72, 22/72 14 years and at a standstill, Washington
TW72w,
52WAV, 7/52, 15 years and at a standstill, Monadnock
52WAVw, 1/52 almost 10 years and at a standstill, Monadnock
NEFF, 21/50 15 years and at a standstill, Monadnock
NEFFw, 1/50 almost 10 years and at a standstill, Monadnock
YALP, 43/100 15 years and at a standstill, Monadnock
YALPw, 1/100 almost 10 years and at a standstill, Monadnock

* Susan is at a standstill because she has retired from mountain hikes. She says her knees click when she goes up and down the stairs, so she doesn’t want to put any more stress on them. It’s a shame, because she needs just 11 4000-footers to complete the White Mountain, New England, and Northeast lists. Her last one was Jackson in August 2007. The last mountain she climbed was Mount Kearsarge in October 2008.

** Susan and Cam have 50/100 while I claim 60/102 because I climbed Wilmington Range a couple of years ago and I wanted to get credit for it, as it’s included on Spencer’s list of 102 mountains. Otherwise, mine is 59/100.
