Is there enough snow down to begin backcountry skiing and boarding? I've heard that they're running ski tours on the cog this year, and though I don't want a guide, thought that it might be fun to summit washington and board most of the way down (weather permitting of course). Also, where are some other good backcountry boarding options and when are they ridable?

Thanks!

I was up on Moosilauke Saturday scoping out Gorge Brook. I shoulda brought my skis instead of snowshoes -- there was anywhere from 2 inches to 1 foot of powder down as I broke trail up, on a nice solid base. The trail was very skiable from about 4600 feet down to about 3700 feet.
