Today was a Sage day! This means I got Sage and Hugh took Alex. Hugh took Alex up the climber's path on Cannon, and I did exactly as Sage requested: miniature golf and Bald Mountain.

Miniature golf went well (is it possible for miniature golf NOT to go well?). Next came "Sage's mountain" (she's renamed it).

After flying up the trail and mugging for a photo at the intersection with Artist's Bluff...

...we came to the first little climb.

Here's the view from the top of that little ledge.

Next came the bigger ledge, which Sage enjoys. She's a ledge girl, she loves to scamper up rock.

Less than fifteen minutes after getting out of the car, we were there!

We had our ceremonial chocolate...

...then admired the views. 'Twas a cloudy day, but it was still pretty.

We lounged for quite a while, Sage exploring all the nooks and crannies of the various ledges. Eventually we made our way back down to the intersection, and decided to do the full route over Artist's Bluff.

After some nice ambling through the woods, we walked over the summit and headed down the stone steps.

Before we knew it, we were at the Artist's Bluff trailhead.

It was a great day. Miniature golf and Bald Mountain...life is good.

Sage will be hiking the big ones with big sis soon enough!

Maybe...she doesn't have much interest in hiking long distances though. She prefers scrambling up and down ledges and examining rocks. Which is fine, as long as she's outside, it's all good. :)

Cymbidium and Little D, thanks. CYm, it is a great hike for the young ones. Lots of great views for very little effort. Fun rock scrambling, too.

Little D, Sage and I are equals when it comes to miniature golf. I habitually whack the balls off the field and into the grass. Her golf balls usually end up bathing somewhere along the way. :p

It IS possible to mess up miniature golf. Just watch me!
Maybe she is going to be a little rock climber????

Nice report Trish. Sage does have big shoes to fill.......and as long as there is enough chocolate........:)

Great going. You are the people that we love maintaining the trail for and will continue to do so. That is what it is all about..I hope you found it in good shape.
