This I planned a trip to BSP. Our plan is to summit Baxter-Hamelin-N. Brother
in two very long hiking days.

Did some one ever past between NW plateau (near hamelin) and
N. brother! What can we expected on our way down NW plateau
and up N. Brother!

The bushwack from nwplateau-Nbrother seem to be about 3 miles.

Probably somebody here has actually done it, but from having stood on both peaks I know what to expect: lots of very dense fir. There's a river in the valley (don't ask me to spell its name) and it gets marshy toward the south (the Klondike) but the most direct route passes to the north of the marsh.

view from N Brother toward Hamlin & Baxter peaks This was taken in fall, if it's green it's fir or spruce.

Please let us know how the BSP people respond if you put that itinerary on your permit request.

If your goal is just to bag the three 4k peaks you can do it in two modest hiking days and stay on trails. No need for an epic, unless of course an epic is your goal.

That being said, I've never done that particular line but I've whacked a lot in the Park. Dropping off the northwest side of the NW Plateau will be very scrubby. Here is an example of the pretty intense fir waves on the west face of the NW Plateau and again on the southeast face of the Brother. You'll have to fight through these on both sides of the valley, plus you'll have to cross the Wassataquoik at the bottom of the Klondike (which could be another matter all together).

What time of year are you planning to do this?

I don't know your background, but be prepared that this will be a very serious whack in which you'll likely draw much blood and accumulate multiple puncture wounds in your palms and forearms. :D It will be nothing like the NE 100 highest that many consider bushwhacks. Need company???

Thanks to every one, I will follow the marked trail. We plan on
going in BSP in March. :)
