Up with a group from New Jersey Search And Rescue's Mountain Rescue Unit, Weather was cold 9 degrees when we left the trucks with very little wind. Some sun and some snow squalls throughout the day. Trail conditions where rough with alot of blowdown on the lower road up to the hunting cabin. The ice was about a quarter inch thick on the trees causing the trees to bend over the trail and create a chandelier effect, the only way through was to put your head down and bulldoze through (glad I had a hood on my shell) took the old road past the hairpin to the hight of land and shot a 300 to the summitt no heard paths were visible so it was a pure bushwack to the summitt. The old road had about 2 inches of light powder covering boilerplate ice so Crampons are suggested, snow shoes not necessary at this time, a hard shell and helmet LOL would be helpfull. As always another great day in the Catskills.
