What do boy scouts, a Chinese church group and a firefighter all have in common? Answer: they have all been beaten by the Belknaps. We decided to spend a day aimlessly wandering through this range. Here's what we found.

Hi Trailwright,
Yup, it was clear that some upgrades have been made to make life easier! Were the Belknaps a Trailwright project?

Nope we have a crew called the BRATTS "Belknap RAnge Trail TenderS".
There are however 3 of us that are Trailwrights as well. Trailwrights has in the early days worked a couple of projects with us.
We also have an adopt a trail program just getting off the ground.
We do not do much on the East end because permission from Landowners is hard to get. Especially the Mt. Major section where the most work is badly needed. As we grow hopefuly we will get more people involved.
The newly formed "Belknap Range Conservation Coalition" is getting involved as well. They have shown an interest and support in our programs. The future looks good at the moment. Thanks for the interest.
Any concerns or needed info, just pm anytime.

We just came from hiking Major and Straightback. It was a great day, despite the wind. We hope to get out there again and make it to Gunstock. Is there an update map available? We were using a very old map that indicated some trails would be unmarked but boy were we surprised and happy to find that to be wrong! Thanks so much for keeping the trails in great shape!
