Lots of nice stuff mentioned above, also would like to mention Ampersand.... that's the 1st mountain I ever climbed in the ADK's.

On a re-read of this thread, I'd agree that Jay Range has great stuff -- but it depends on what you are looking for in the shoot... Jay, Pitchoff and Pyramid offer wonderful panoramic views of many peaks - quite awesome all the way around. Similarly, I like the views from Wright Peak because you are totally "in" the ADKs with mtns all around you, above you and across from.

On the other hand, if you are looking for a "setting" - then there are so many different places to go - several mentioned above: Rainbow Falls, Indian Cliffs, etc. Roaring Brook is all ADK to me.

Love that spot...great views of Ampersand and the Sewards. Of course, the mosquitos seemed to love it too when I was up there!
