I posted a trail condition earlier but here is the full report with pictures.

It's a really excellent loop but if you prefer well maintained trails and enjoy the company of lots of other hikers it might not be for you...

Thanks, Unadogger. If you make this loop it might be better in the opposite direction of what I did. Going CCW would put the steepest stuff on the ascent and would get the relatively boring Shelburne Trail out of the way early.

I made that loop many years ago, with side trips to The Imp and Middle Moriah. I remember the Shelburne Trail as getting easy sooner than you found it. I think clockwise is better because if you get wet at the Wild River crossing you're nearly back. [One wimpy group walked up Highwater Trail to the bridge.]
