Is there a potential winter campsite at approx the 3300 foot level on the Bondcliff Trail....where the trail turns sharply to the left (south)?

I know about the old Camp 16 , 5 miles from the Kanc but we are looking for a site closer to the summit of BondCliff.

I don't remember the exact area, but there are spots above the last "dry" stream crossing that would fit a tent. We pitched a 4 person tent about 12 years ago around the 3800 level but I had a stump in my back that a pad didn't really help in December. Make sure to leave yourself a few hours of daylight and you will most likely find a good enough spot.

Bottom line: If you find a spot lower, don't keep looking for one higher up!

I've camped in the area Quietman references and it's a good spot. A couple of times we were able to get some running water by that crossing so we didn't have to melt snow.

Doug,
Thank you for your encouraging words.

Do you remember if there might be around a 20 foot diameter spot (We build the Ice Box Igloo)

Also is it far up from the sharp left turn at 3300 feet?
