Hi---I've hiked for a good number of years in Scarpa SLs (a fairly heavy, high leather boot with a Vibram sole). I have been very pleased with these, but am exploring the possibility of a lighter boot which will still meet my needs. I am a size 45 1/2-46, have a high arch and a mediium to wide foot. I need a decent amount of ankle support. The bulk of my hiking is on trails up 3000-5000 ft peaks in ME/NH with a day pack (some easy rock and slides here and there). I would also like possibilities to use on a "section" of AT from Troutville, VA to Katahdin with a pack weight ranging from 25-35 pounds. many thanks for any ideas.---jim

I bought a pair of Dunham Waffle Stompers this year - love em. They come in widths which is nice for my 4Es
